SOME NOTES ABOUT MY GAME (IT IS CONFUSING):

Gameplay stuff:

Firstly, hold (not press) space or left mouse to fire. This made more sense with an earlier scrapped mechanic, now it's just... there

Second, a tl;dr on how to build weapons since it isn't straightforward. Make sure you drag the top of a card to move it after it is created, otherwise your cards will stack on top of eachother (sorry) and you'll have to close and reopen them.

1. add an OUT node.

2. add an OSC node and connect it to the out node.

3. add a bullet node (RED/BLUE/MIS). connect it do the OSC node.

4. (optional): you can connect multiple bullet nodes to a MIX node, and the connect the MIX output to an OSC for "special" attacks.

Development notes:

The actual "game" was very rushed because I had to rework the game several times to make anything fun. Initially the idea was for the weapon to be a particle generator, with particles being generated and combined according to your cards. It worked a lot more like a synthesizer, which explains a lot of the design decisions. Unfortunately this ended up being super laggy, and not very fun. That was scrapped and eventually reworked into the current mechanic.

Thanks for trying it out owo hope you at least find the mechanic interesting :3

This game was made in 1.5 days for GMTK jam 2021.

Huge Epilepsy Warning for the final boss fight sequence, it takes up a significant portion of the screen and rapidly flashes high contrast red, white, and black colours.
